Playhouse on the Square, Theatre for Youth (February 2016) Director: Irene Crist Designer: Ashley Peisher In-Progress Ice-Dying Sample To sample the new-to-me ice-dying technique, I used a plastic project bin, and dish drying rack, and a 10"x8" rectangle of the same silk I would later use to build the dress. First, I soaked the silk, and bunched it up on the rack. Then I layered on plenty of ice and sprinkled powdered Rit dye (brown, yellow, purple, violet) using a plastic spoon.
